Ini Edo was born on 23rd April 1982 in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. She is the second born in a family of four, one elder cousin that she considers her elder sister, a younger brother and a younger sister. The Nollywood goddess was brought up in a strict and religious background.

Ini Edo began her acting career back in 2000 when she went for auditions which were organized by a popular Nollywood producer where she performed very well and was offered her first role in a movie.
